Do Your Part to #BeCyberSmart

Oct 30, 2020

With Cybersecurity Awareness Month coming to a close, we've rounded up some resources for you to ensure your employees continue to be well equipped year-round to do their part.

This year, more than ever, online scams are widespread and imposters will do anything to get into your accounts. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) announced that their overarching theme for 2020 is: "Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart." This theme aims to empower organizations and their members with the knowledge to protect their part of cyberspace. If everyone does their part, the world will be safer and more resilient.

Make sure you are aware of the following ways to avoid fraudulent attacks:

  • Don't click on pop-ups or attachments if you don't know who they're from
  • Don't allow anyone (aside from your IT helpdesk) to control your computer remotely
  • Protect your accounts with features like multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Hang up and and call back a known number from a reputable site if you are unfamiliar with a caller
