Abacus Group Adds Hybrid Cloud Option to its IT-as-a-Service Solution for Alternative Investment Firms

NEW YORK, March 14, 2018 – Abacus Group, a leading provider of hosted IT solutions for alternative investment firms, today announced a fully integrated email hosting option via Microsoft Office 365 is now available within its flagship AbacusFLEX™ product, adding a hybrid cloud option to its private cloud platform.

AbacusFLEX Hybrid bridges the gap between the Microsoft public cloud and the Abacus platform via single sign-on capabilities across a client’s entire IT system, providing enhanced security while ensuring ease-of-use for the total user experience. Added security benefits also include centralized unique support logins that are fully auditable and consistently managed via the proprietary Abacus Client Portal. These additional compliance features and controls provide vital transparency and reporting capabilities for investment managers, which is often not the case when using a stand-alone public cloud offering.

Abacus Group’s new hybrid cloud offering was strategically developed by its R&D team using AbacusFLEX’s identity platform, allowing enterprise-level single sign-on and corporate security compliance integration. This integration expands AbacusFLEX’s connectivity to other public cloud services, allowing Abacus clients to use public cloud applications more securely.

“Our new hybrid cloud product was specifically built to adhere to the usability requirements and compliance demands of the alternative investment market,” said Chris Grandi, CEO of Abacus Group.  “After extensive strategic planning with our cybersecurity and engineering teams, we’re excited to launch this new robust, enterprise-grade integration with the Microsoft public cloud.”

The hybrid option is fully integrated into Abacus Group’s extensive transport layer security (TLS) federation network, a custom-built security platform that allows all Abacus clients the ability to communicate with over 1,000 counterparties via encrypted communication channels from the first day they come onto the Abacus platform. It’s also configured to include an integration option with unified communication compliance vendors Smarsh and Global Relay, allowing Abacus clients the ability to archive digital communications for compliance retention requirements.
