Information-technology firm Abacus Group finished the third quarter having signed up 57 new clients this year. That exceeds the New York firm's previous full-year high of adding 42 new clients, set in 2012. Abacus, led by former Eze Castle Integration executive Chris Grandi, specializes in implementing cloud-based technology systems for hedge fund managers.
Part of it's pitch is that the service frees up clients' in-house technology professionals to handle other tasks - or, in the case of South Ferry Capital, not to hire a tech specialist at all.
